Looks like because of the changes to the MOT that came into force on 20 March 2013
it will mean I will now have to get my TPS sorted out!

it's only the 13 pin towing socket that needs to be tested, the normal 7 pin only needs to be checked for security and to make sure it will hold the plug securely. if they are plugging in a test board to a 7 pin socket thats not allowed

I had MOT on Friday and it failed on towbar electrics, they now check the 7 pin socket as part of the MOT The garage showed me the list of items which now form part of the MOT and towbar electrics are there ( it failed as there was no wiring for the foglight pin). now passed, however I need to change all the brake pipes for next year, they were picked up as advisories on this years MOT

2 local mot testers to me told me exactly what Eithan said  Wink
an awful lot of garages up and down the country were sold this plug in test kits as long as 2years ago after being told they would have to use them  Rolling Eyes

I agree with dave. They were origianaly going down the route of the 7 pin socket so a lot of test stations bought the kit to test them. Then it all changed again.
They have been talking about several different changes for the last couple of years but so far only minor changes have applied.
