About to change ORPS.
You mention o ring seals in oil pipeline.
Should I order new seals for rebuild, and if so how would you descibe the items to the Isuzu dealer.
Thanks.

I'd say definitely change seals. I didn't notice I slightly damaged a seal on removal and had oil everywhere once it pressured up! they are not expensive.  Ask for HP oil pipe seals, clearly visible on the isuzu parts catalogue - they are grey in colour and quite thin IIRC.

Hi.
Thanks for advice.
Picked up the 2 rings yesterday for oil feed...£20 approx, and ring for new ORPS.....£5.
And to think my first car..a 1950.Ford Prefect which came with petrol in the tank cost me £25!
The purchase took place in the last century, of course.

Hi again.
Beginning to get a bit concerned about the two oil pipeline o rings I have.
The sticky says to make sure you don't lose the "small o rings" when you disconnect the oil supply pipeline.
The two rings I got are not " small".... They are approx 2 inches in diameter.
Black rubber.
Part number 8971865701: Gasket ; Nipple....is description.
Hope I don't have to order different rings.
These were not available in UK, so had to be ordered from Europe or Japan.

Yikes, they've gone up in price! The seals weren't that expensive when I got some about 5 yrs ago. I even bought a spare one cos they were cheap. It's probably still sat in one of my bit boxes somewhere. PM me your address & I'll pop it in post to you if I can find it, of no use to me as my trooper went to isuzu heaven 4 yrs ago.

"... 2 inches in diameter" certainly does not sound right.

The 2 O-rings in situ on the ends of my oil pipe are about 1/2" in diameter

Guys.
Many thanks for your inputs.
And here was me trying to ensure ORPS swap went perfectly.
Don't lose " o" rings...get new ones... Seemed good idea!
Sod and Murphy my two Patron Saints.
Thought summat wrong when I got o rings and re read, advice not to lose the "
small" o rings.
And today the non starting Trooper started!
While I was playing with the Tech 2 I got.
Car started and ran perfectly.
ORPS seemed fine.
Not reading zero when cold, but around 0.7.
Will swap out anyway, but beginning to wonder if that is culprit, or an electrical problem...harness?

Hi.
Yes prob now sorted.
Was duff ORPS.
The " O " rings I got were not the correct ones.
Existing rings were saved and used, and no leakage at all after rebuild.
I think I was lucky that old rings seem to be holding up.
Car running perfectly.....I did buy a Tech 2 and the readings indicated ORPS faulty.
Only covered around 22,000 miles from memory since replacement, but £40 cheaper from Milners than from Isuzu dealer several years ago!
DAB.

Hi.
That would be very useful.
Although I hope not to need another ORPS replacement in my or the Trooper's lifetime, whichever ends the sooner!
Pity my replacement preceded yours.....then I would have got the correct " o" rings.
I would have been happier to have replaced the rings, but there are no signs of leakage.
Regards, DAB.

Hi all, I know this an old post but the pictures have gone, is there any where they be viewed ?. I cannot find a how to on YouTube unless someone knows different.  I think that my ORPS has/is gone wrong but not sure how to change it, also is it a "OIL RAIL PRESSURE SWITCH" or a "OIL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR", & one thing where do you get them from ?.

 many thanks.

  Pintail.

If you do like this "Kid Fixer", then you can get to the Oil Rail Pressure Sensor.

Very easy task to do. If I've done it, anyone can do it... (I'm not the Kid Fixer though lol).

Good luck. And don't forget you'll need a Tech2 to "tell" the ECU you've replaced the ORPS.
