Mate of mine owns a small dredging company and has just brought a Case 888B long reach excavator so got me to check it over .
Not sure who did the long reach work its not a Kokuric one for sure anyway its got the usual leccy pump to fill the diesel tank and a rotary valve that lets you fill another tank sitting in the counterweight.
So the valves 2 position fill front or fill rear , ok thats easy .
So we look at this because the rear tanks higher than the front but there is no pipe out of the bottom of the rear tank only the filler line and we think how does the fuel get from that rear tank to the engine ? are the tanks joined ? No.
Well when Andrew sussed it we both agreed we are getting old cos the way it works is dead simple but we were looking for complex .
Anybody guess it ? Special gribble prize _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

Pump reverses? Or the line is the fuel line and the pump is just plumbed into it?
That's as far as my brain can go this morning
Or the fuel feed is in the front tank? gravity fed from back (just seen rear tank is higher) _________________

Umm , nope .
Ok its this . You put the suction pipe from the leccy pump into the back tank ,set the valve to fill front tank and pump away.
Doooooooh ! half hour I was looking at it _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |
