I was into airguns for many years and done a lot of plinking and small pest control. I always wanted to apply for my FAC license and get a .22 or something accurate and get into it in a bigger way, but the years kinda flew past and I never got around to sending off the paperwork etc. It's still something I would love to do, but I think I would have some problems with the application where I live at the moment (I heard they are rather picky around here who they grant the licence to). _________________ 1997 swb trooper 3.1

good to see lots of other shooters. still looking for 'the right trooper' though. makes it even worse when i get to drive the bosses trooper. Its just cruel
i own so far:
Vore .22LR semi auto with moderator
Fias .222
Savage: .243
Enfield No4 : .303
Remington 700: .308/7.62
SVDS (dragunov) 7.62x54R
beretta 303 12g semi auto
fias 12g O/U
investarm 20g O/U
just put in for a variation for another .22 rimfire. getting a ruger 10/22 with moderator.
next on the list is a baikal MP 153 semi auto. then an AK in .223 for long range rabbiting and foxes but the trooper will come before that hopefully. _________________ 100% bloodred offroad free....and proud. |

I'm a complete gun novice, but did you just say an AK for rabbiting?
The only AK I've heard of is the terrorists choice! |

Yeah I'd use an AK for rabbits and fox. It's only .223 so not that big especially if I use lighter bullet heads and drop the powder weight down.. I wouldn't mind one in 7.62x39 for roe deer but that's what the dragunovs for really. This is just my opinion but I say the best guns in the world come from Russia. There's nothing more satisfying than outshooting someone who's just spent 5 grand on a fancy custom target rifle with a mass produced 'sniper rifle' conceived in the 1960s in the soviet union. Absolutely priceless to see their faces by the way this is all in the united kingdom just incase you didn't know. _________________ 100% bloodred offroad free....and proud. |

Been shooting since I was a kid, and have the good fortune of a) come from a country where you can still walk into a gun shop and say "I'll have this one, and that one, and three boxes of this", and b) live in a place where I can be out in the bush with a decent rifle in my hands, while things the size of a bungalow or with fangs, claws, and other sharp bits on them are moving about.
Got an assortment of rifles from .22 to .45 caliber in various countries, mostly use a .375 H&H or a .22 these days. |

I've been shooting for about 25 years, mostly rabbit/pigeon, I moved back up to Scotland after 22 years in the Navy and struggled to find any decent permissions. I use a HW97KT and a Hatsan AT44-10.
Recently got myself a couple of ferrets which are great fun although I find myself spending more time looking for them than I do any bunnys, lucky I have a wee Jack Russell who picks them up and brings them back to the box when I cant find them |
