fuel filter, air filter, 4 injectors with seals, an International Breakdown and Recovery Card

It's a legal requirement to carry spare lightbulbs in many European countries. I also carried spare belts and an extra spare wheel when I went out to Turkey a few weeks ago.

Seriously I would give it a proper good service like I would do yearly anyway ALL fluids, grease gun on all the nipples check brake pads
depending on type of driving      motorway or mountains maybe chuck in a new set of pads
I have a 3.0ltr as well and the misses clocks about 7000 a year, we don't carry a boot full of spares an the car doesn't know the difference
between a 2 mile run and a 200 mile run so I don't see why yours if it is normally reliable that it wouldn't be on a good long run.
I would however defo purchase  an International Breakdown and Recovery Card as already said, again both mine are covered by flux recovery

8 injectors, 1 turbo, 8 injector sleeves, 2 of each strainer, 2 orps, 1 orcv, 1 rad, 1 fuel tank, full snap on toolbox, tech2, oh and the most important thing.........me! i don't take up much room i'll sit in the back out the wayif i have to lol

France is very strickt on tourist drivers and what they have to carry ....i.e a high viz (must be visable in car even when not being worn) a min of 2 breathalizer kits ........the AA have a lust of all necessary items needed when driving in europe ..........apart from your troop spares lol
