Swapped out the original 235/70R16's for the 31x10.5R15's on Fronty leafer rims.
Instant 1" lift and looks chunkier now:

I think she is dirtier on the inside, as is evident on the dust on the dashboard which should be black.
Yeah Nick. If she passes that is. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

Failed
Rear fog light (forgot to check that one)
Steering tie rod end (they must of used a bigger whammy bar than mine)
All in all not a bad result considering I have no history on the car. Waiting for the call to go collect. after they fix it. Cannot be bothered to do it myself once I have gone out and got the parts, then back to fit them, then back to the station for a retest etc etc. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

1 years MOT for the sum of £100 all in c/w the work done. Happy days.
She is a site manager for her brothers business. He runs a form of medieval battle re-enactment system 6 times a year down near Silverstone near Northampton. The site is on a farm and held in two massive fields. Each event we go down and set all the site up running waterworks and electricity around the site. Pitching almost 50 tents ranging from Army garages to massive 4 pole canvas Marquee tents. As such it gets really muddy and boggy when its wet, but also extremely dusty when its hot and dry. The dust gets everywhere. My Mk.I is as bad. As such she needs a 4x4 to lug the trailers and equipment around. Also she likes to drive a larger vehicle when travelling to and from site from Preston. I have just gained the Bighorn as we have just bought her another Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 auto on LPG. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

Mounted the CB Antenna and base unit. Toyed for ages with the idea of Mag mounts, brackets off the spare wheel carrier. In the roof, in the front wing etc etc. In the end I opted for the one part that could be easily replaced if it needed to be. The Jeremy Beadle door. Decided against the front wing as I didn't want it getting ripped off going through the undergrowth.
As for the Base unit I couldn't be bothered moving stuff around in the dash, finding bits of plastic to make surrounds. Quick and simple option. Gearbox tunnel, and the mic next to the hazard switch. The dash has holes all over anyway, and to be honest she ain't ever going to be a looker of a truck. Good thing being an auto is I don't have to worry about the mic lead fouling on the gearstick.
All I need to do now is wait for my patch lead to arrive and then connect the two up, and SWR the system to make sure it works properly. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

Same place I stuck mine, except the mic is on the same side as the base unit, good being lazy innit, I only stuck mine in because it was a tenner, the mag mount is at the back on the roof until it gets a smack from a branch then it just sticks itself to the back door at a funny old angle |

I do have a mag mount, but to be honest it annoyed the hell out of me having to always get out and put it right. It seemed to spend more time flailing around than being on the roof. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

Yep, mine does, but it's only a little un, so it's no big shakes, I've never been a fan of the big whippy things, as long as it has enough scope to keep in touch it'll do, it's years since I bothered with one really, but it was cheap, I didn't want anything fancy doubling the value of my motor |
