Well some of you willl have noticed that I have not been on here much of late and its due to Turtel aka Terry Norris . now refered to as   'you  son of a preacherman  '

Terry is really good fabricator/welder and does loads for Top Gear and one day recent when I was looking at yet another busted diff on the 9 0
He says 'you wanna wind a set of patrol axles in there, thats what all the boys over in EU land do ,I've done one too '

So I look up all the pros and cons and how to's and its a good deal both in what you get and cost so I get a set of Y61 axles and off I go with the help of Stateline Plant and Commercial .

So the front nissan radius arms/axle go in no mods  ,the brake lines are the same, steering bars swap over easy, nissan factory rear diff lock works of a trooper sotf valve and that was it .Much cutting and welding and hafway through I think lets nip up Tels and get some pointers off his one. Nope  his conversion is in bits all over the deck like a  lego set for gorillas .

I though you had finished it Tel ? er no says he  bin off to x,y,x,z doing a,b, c -  Ok Ok I get the picture  Shocked

So it was not that easy even with 3 welders to hand, a ramp and a  full work shop cos although many have put Y60 axles into discos nobody seems to have done my conversion before ,but its done now well nearly so will put some pics up as the things half rover, quarter mazda and quatrer nissan so should be ok on here  lol !

Main advantages - Bigger brakes, much better lock ,9" H233b nissan diffs, very big half shafts,60mm wider track ,factory rear locker, huge CV joints ,stronger steering set up,can run 36" tyres easy now . Axles cost 450 ,sundry weld on bits 200 ,250 to Gordon for use of the workshop ect say 1k all in .

Gotta buy a front locker but hey you cant have it all - Thanks to the guys at Wrex Racing for their help too with jonny joints and stuff .
