I've put a male and female connector in the white wire circuit so now when his car won't start he can disconnect the white wire and see if it'll start. I also cleaned out the injection loom with some brake cleaner spray as the whole loom including the connection block was covered in it. I did try starting it while I was there yesterday and she started up fine no problems. The engine sounds sweet, no coughs splutters or anything.

So now Dad is going to keep trying to start it at different times during the day and when I it won't he'll disconnect it and let me know if it starts then. I'll report back here once we know something.

Thanks for all of your help guys  Very Happy

Just a quick update. I've been speaking to dad he said he's been trying to start his car and so far its not reproduced the fault. I'm wondering when I cut the white wire I also "cleaned the loom" and the connection block which was full of oil. This couldn't of been the fault all along surely ?

Dad is still starting it periodically. I will keep you posted and any developments

Thanks

Last update,  As I said before I cleaned and tightened the connections in the loom going to ORPS since then the car has started first time Smile. It has been ok for nearly a year now, it looks like either one of the connections in the loom was breaking contact and causing the problem.

Thanks again for all of your help Smile

One of my Father's friends also has a Trooper with a similar fault and has asked for the telephone number of Dan's garage I will pass this onto him.
