I need someone to make me a winch mount please Very Happy
Got a Superwinch Husky, I've had a look at fitting it myself but not sure what to make the mounts from, or where to weld etc.....
Anyone round the North West who can sort it? I'll help out as much as I can, but as its a bit important to get it right I need someone who knows what they are doing!
Thanks, Mike

Here's a pic of the bumper, which could also do with fixing a little better!

Have a look at my post warn 8274 onto a mk4 in modifications, shows some brackets and stuff.
Use 8mm plate and come off the bumper brackets or make a box across the front and weld it up like gary820 did on the old blue one.

You might find the winch motor is in a difficult position without moving the whole winch forwards a bit, good winch though no worries about the brake getting hot,it hasn't got one !

That bumpers for a warn 8274 I think from the bolt pattern, you got some figuring out to do there as the husky mount feet down.

Yes, the Husky bolts on from underneath, I've never welded a winch frame up before, and really don't want to find out I've done it wrong when it gets ripped apart!
If no-one on here can help I'll have to go to the local Land Rover guys..... Crying or Very sad

I borrowed Mr G's design to make mine , but did make the winch tray to
suit my build .
You should be able to do something similar .

If you made the mount like Mr G's you can then mount the bumper to it .

There some photos of mine on the Facebook page .

Theres bolt holes in the base of the bumper, but also a sticker that says I need to buy a steel frame, so I think the base mounts won't be a big problem  Wink

Well then! The firm that did Lawn Rovers is now a used car plot!
BUT...got put onto a firm about 12 miles from me who will make a winch frame and new bumper brackets, without issuing safety and load certificates!  Laughing
I told them I just want it making, and will in return give them some cash money....no BS with receipts, certs, safety reports......I didn't think it would be so hard, its not exactly a nuclear aircraft carrier I'm asking for  Evil or Very Mad

Of course a business needs to be wary....BUT...
When someone says they want a very simple job doing, to their own spec/drawings, its a total pisstake to say it needs certifying!
"but you might come back and sue us if owt happens" is a total load of *beep*!   Evil or Very Mad
