If you read through some of the posts in this section, you'll see a 'priority-list' of things to check when a 4JX1 won't start - but it may NOT be relevant in your case! If the sudden outpouring of smoke was BLUE - then that implies burning OIL - which might imply mechanical damage to the engine! That'd be really hard luck!
If you're NOT hearing 'nasty' noises when you crank, then go through the 'list' - starting with a check for an outflow of fuel at the domed 17mm nut [when loosened!] while you crank the engine. If you're getting THAT, then you've probably fixed the already-known fuel-system fault - so you can progress through ORPS, ORPCV etc.
Good Luck! |

try overfilling it past the max mark with 2 litres of oil and see if it fires, if it does you need a new strainer |

done the extra oil trick no joy, white wire cut no joy, brake light fuse ok been running faultless, even put new glow plugs in without a problem, new tank and fuel lines so no air getting in, new primer pump _________________ 1997 trooper commercial normaly full of dogs, ferrets and pheasant grub
