I replaced my tank after the BB12 when it died on me.....so no issues with rusty fixings etc!
I seem to recall thinking about lifting the tank way back then: seem to think its a pretty easy job?
Re the body lift, I have got some concerns about the height of the spacers....seems like a huge amount of body supported by small bolts!  Shocked
Think I will look into making a body reinforcing kit, especially after what you say about the body moving.....welding will be involved!

I have a 3" body lift on my Mk.I. To be honest I don't chuck her around as much as I used to, but she does get some action. I cannot say I have noticed the body moving. However if you are going to try and get the wheels off the ground at speed and heavy landings Franks suggestion does have some legs.

It was a mistake that cause the issue to be fair and was a vertical jump of about 6ft after a hill climb. The body moved forward enough to make getting 2,4 and R gear impossible and it had to be pulled back into position.  Embarassed

If you put a few blocks between the body and the chassis it should help and stop the body rotating on the mounts. I keep meaning to do it to mine (only 2inch lift).

as Rhanagar says most aren't reinforced and don't have issues...

That would do it Frank Very Happy

I have seen some trucks with 2-3" lifts do some pretty acrobatic stuff ... though usually at least two wheels are on the ground (usually opposite corners while negotiating bomb holes) Never have I seen the body move. Franks Redbull moment is not something that happens everyday ... in fact very rarely and some would say quite deliberate and expecting something to go wrong Very Happy

If I were you I would do the lift as you can always go back to adding reinforcements later. You have an extra 3" clearance now to get under.
