The air-box was the first thing done about 18months ago.... It does help for LPG but also allows fitting the 3.1 snorkel easier.

There's more... Wink

Twin battery setup is new and the black bracket....

Its my new 90A 3.1 diesel alternator mounted on the top of the engine  Very Happy

Hopefully this will stop the failed alternators I get every time I go offroad!

Quick update -

Took the trooper laning in the lakes this weekend and the new alternator works great - even when wading  Smile

The 3 wire alternator is easy to wire in as the colours of two wires match and the third wire is a sense wire that goes onto the battery terminal. The voltage is much more constant - doesn't seem to sag even with everything electrical on. I am yet to test it with my winch but am hopeful I will get much improved performance!

Seriosly toying with the idea of a V6 as a play truck ... especially as I have a complete V6 compatible multi point LPG system in the garage.

This looks like a good modification to make.

The V6 is good and reliable off-road (I haven't had problems with it apart from the alternator) but it is a bit heavy on fuel. My single point LPG works OK - it would be nice with a multi point as you suggest

They are cheap too as nobody wants gas guzzlers anymore  Very Happy

Yeah ... been looking. You can get them for sub £1000 in fairly good nick. Insurance ain't bad even with modifications.
