This is my new spares bucket. I only picked it up at the weekend; not a bad truck but, as I know nothing about it, I'm throwing it open to the gurus...

Ok, it starts off the key no problem (when I have the jump leads on it).  The battery is goosed cos it's been standing,

It runs...for about 8 3/4 seconds, could be as much as 9 or 10, then it dies, it doesn't matter if you feather the gas or leave it to tick over, or rev it, it just dies.

I have put clean new fuel in it but it makes no difference, I have not messed with anything under the hood as I don't know the engine, like I said it's more for parts

but I would like to get it running nice.

If anyone can throw some light on this I would be grateful. According to the info on the plate it's an RLJ, which is a 4ZE1 ENGINE, model UBS5VF.

Thanks guys
G.T. Nick

No electric non run is the alt charging, the midi van the same alt. About 40 quid on eebuygum.

It could be many things dizzy cap , sparkplugs, no fuel  but if battery gone this wont help try fresh battety I still have the ecu and wiring somewhere for my engine you welcome to it. I would start with a battry and go from there fire some redex in with the fuel give it a clean out
