I have an isuzu trooper 3.0, it keeps cutting out when driving and sometimes it won't start and if it does start it won't rev up!!

I understand that there is a strainer in the sump and that can sometimes disengage and also the oil pressure rail sensor can fault!
I've spoken to my isuzu dealer about the problem and they either want a big amount of money to fix it or telling me i should get rid of it!
Fortunately for me i met a bloke in a taxi rank in worthing, who directed me to this page, he said i might be able to find an independent isuzu specialist!

Is there anyone out there that can help me?

I'm guessing you could solve this problem straight away? How easy and a rough estimate of how much?

we are based in Brighton, isn't the furthest away and i'm sure i could sort that out!

thats a bit like asking how longs a piece of string lol we don't normally charge to plug in and see what its doing so if it's something like the orps then we will defo be cheaper than the dealer could sell the part for and thats inc vat and fitting but if it's the strainer then thats probably more due to the amount of oil these things take.

Sorry bit of a dumb reply to be honest lol
The Isuzu dealer near me said to replace the strainer it would cost around £1200 and that is where you start, if thats not the problem he said you go to the injectors!

err find another dealer, the strainers are about £70 and it's about an hours labour max plus a sump of oil. the whole job should come in at less than £250!

do the white wire trick to test for the sensor and also the extra 2 litres of oil past the max level to test for the strainer
