Got my trooper booked in for the morning, its just been put together after spending 18 months in pieces while I replaced the sleeve and injector seals, also done all the belts a thermostat and a set of discs and pads on the front. On the drive home with the mrs following behind in our focus I noticed what seems to be lots of smoke whilst accelerating or under load.. got in and the better halve confirmed this as being mostly black smoke. Had a quick look on here and have now removed the egr vacume pipe and inserted a screw, fingers crossed this sorts it out no time to go test driving now its dark early. On the up side the truck is starting on the button and sounds real sweet when reving and at idle, but then I have no comparison so could still be room for improvment. Also looks as though I will be taking it to bits again as one of the cv gaiters has a nice crack right the way around it but not split yet so should be ok for the mot at least. Once mot'd will be getting it booked in at local isuzu dealer for a throttle loom recall, fingers crossed his truck will be on the road at long last....

It passed, only two advisorys 1 for slighttly perished tyres and one for rear brake pipes having slight corosion, which he gave me a wire brush and I greased them up whilst I was there. Tyres were manufactured in 2005 so I supose a little bit of perishing is to be expected, will be replacimg them this year with same again BFG AT bit it the bigger 265 75 16 for more ground clearance and longer gearing...Also flew through emisions test so I rekon pluging up the egr must have helped as it does not leave massive clouds of smoke anymore,  but still abit when its floored. Thinking a fuel and air filter swap is next and then maybe decat for better economy and efficiency but for now happy days and time for it to do some miles......
