The 3.1 bighorn that I bought recently scared the *beep* out of me last week
I'd been driving it every day, short journeys, 8 miles a day, until last Thursday when I was on a longer one. 40 miles of motorway, off on the rural road, going round a right hand bend, it stopped dead . Luckily I was able to park it on a lane-way entrance just on the bend. Smoke and steam billowing from under the bonnet. . Brown soot everywhere. To cut a long story short, got it home with several top ups of water.
Drove it into a local firm who can test for head gasket failure etc. and was I delighted when they told me the radiator was punctured.
Ordered a new one from them, came in this morning, so I can get it fitted tomorrow.
Not a bad price either at £95.00 + vat. |
