I HAVE A 1988 TROOPER AND I AM TRYING TO CHANGE THE REAR PADS. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO RETRACT THE BRAKE PISTON TO FIT THE PADS IN |

hi there adrian you could use a g-clamp to push the piston in to the caliper but be carefull or you could put the old pads back in and use a flat ended screwdriver as a lever between the outer pad and calliper and gentley apply some pressure. but make sure that you keep an eye on the master cylinder,because the brake fluid will rise,if you do spill brake fluid use water and a small bit of washing up liquid mixed with it to wash off any fluid spilt. there is a proper tool to push the piston back but for what it costs, and the little use it would get its not worth spending the money. any way could luck let me know how you do nathan. |

THANKS NATHAN, ANY WORRIES ABOUT WINDING BACK THE HANDBRAKE ADJUSTMENT ALLAN SCREW AT THE SAME TIME AS PUSHING BACK THE PISTON? |

THANKS, ONE LAST QUESTION CAN I WIND THE SCREW BACK FULLY BEFORE I START TO PUSH THE PISTON OR DOES IT HAVE TO DONE SIMULTANEOUSLY |

from what I can remember you have too turn the screw as well as pushing the piston in sorry has been a while since last done one hope this helps nathan.good luck. |
