|
|
Hi There,
My 2001 trooper (4jx1) seems to not blow cold air when driving through freeways/highways where I need to maintain at least 1800 rpm for a minimum of 5 minutes. The rest of the trip will be very warm unless I drive under 1500 rpm. Seems like the compressor is cutting off immediately. This does not happen when driving through stop and go city thoroughfares.
I am from the Philippines so ambient temps would be at a 30-32C range.
I am not sure if my mechanic remove the engine thermostat as the highest warmed up temperature I've seen is 62C when before I see the number in the 80s (using a scanguage that's consistently connected). Is this a factor? If not, what needs to be done to solve the issue?
Thanks in advance! This forum has helped me in so many ways already. |

Thanks! I will have it recharged.
On the topic of thermostat, would there be any effect on other things (aside from not being fuel efficient) if the engine remains that cold? |

Truly appreciate your responses, Eithan. I haven't found time to visit an a/c shop but when I do get to, I will update the thread. |

Freon is now at optimum level. The a/c tech said it was a tad bit under filled. Same problem. |
