You've picked a difficult one there Modelwise . I would not try taking the pump head off in situ as its too easy to do something wrong as it's not easy to get at .

Also if your going to take the pump off it means doing the timing and if your in that area you would want to do the timing belt too.

If your not too happy with the work find a local version of me ,eithan or trooper dan . There is a version of us in most places just speak nice and offer cash .

pop the pump off. one trick is to leave the pumps pulley in place so the timing isnt affected. takes a couple of hours to remove.

I would get the engine to TDC as per changing the timing belt. Then once you have done that scribe a line between the the pump mount plate and the timing case. That way the pump goes back on as it was when it came off. This will maintain both engine and pump timing.

fan off
rad, fuel primer, p/s reservoir and nearside battery out the way - is optional but advisable
aux belts off
cambelt cover off
set TDC and lock cam and fuel pump with 8mm bolts
loosen fuel pump bolt leaving it on 4/5 threads
remove injector pipes
remove brackets under pump
disconnect fuel, water and wiring
remove 3 12mm headed nuts holding pump on. (leave closest till last)
tap pully nut and pump will fall backwards, remove nut

Sounds straight forward might have leave radiator in tho as only just fitted it was a *beep* sounds better to do however what if timing belt needs changing with the timing done with bolts would it be wise to change seeing as all apart

The bolts for the injector pump can't quite remember if I can just undo the two that go into the head have a the two water pipes off already have to remember label the injector pipes or is it easy to just undo each end move them out way

However new tools came have tool let's me undo screws at a right angle
Worth a go not wasting time
