Problem, after having a knock to the rear diff with a large boulder fuel has stopped going to the engine. Taken filter off emptied, cleaned etc... You can still suck diesel through the pipes. After making a make shift tank with a milk bottle, the diesel just flows through the return valve. The Trooper will use the diesel in the pipes then cut out again. What do you guys think? Also where the hell are the fuel pump/s?

The 3.0 sends fuel up and through the head on continuous basis and the lift pump is under the upside down looking filter thing at the front of the engine .

There is also a hand primer on top the fuel filter.

I'd say the fuel suction lines got damaged somewhere so if it won't pump fuel out the 10mm head bleed screw on the fuel filter head its from the hand prime back to look first.

The hand primer is pumping diesel through but any diesel that is in the pipes just gets used as if there is no pump or anything.

it's my age i am nearly 40 you know lol

it's interesting as i got one that does a similar thing, it starts fine but after a few hundred yards it conks out and you have to crank it over and over to get it going then it runs ok for the rest of the day,

when it cuts out does it start again after a few minutes?

so if you bypass the filter housing using a different fuel tank it still won't carry on running? it just uses the fuel in the pipe then cuts out?

then it's got to be the lift pump as thats the only thing in the system, it can't be either sucking or pushing. it would be very rare though as it's normally bulletproof.
