Haven't been on here for ages, which is a good thing especially for a 3.0l owner......Any way current one is more or less behaving, but someone local has one that isn't.Apparently the injector sleeves have been knackered by watery diesel?? so it won't run.The machine is in good order apart from that, almost immaculate. Is it worth repairing and are the injector sleeves easy to sort?Otherwise, what's it worth just for spares?I think it's on about 80,000 miles and V reg,LWB 3.0l. |

hardest bit is getting the sleeves out as you need a puller |

Is that a special Isuzu tool or a standard kind of thing? |

special tool but some people make their own and some members do hire theirs out as the only other way is to take the head off |

It is well worth contacting IM to see if it has had the recall work done on it. The injectors and sleeves are a free recall. Getting your dealer to do the work is far easier than doing it yourself

they don't break they have two o rings on them and after a while the lower o ring comes unravelled or breaks so it mixes the diesel and coolant, also remember to drain the tank as it can get coolant in there |

OK,thanks.Done a recall check and the sleeves were done some time ago.4 recalls in all on it.Rough idea of cost of new sleeves and rings?I'll have a look on here at old threads to find out if the replacement is within my capabilities! |

one sleeve used to be about £70 so you would need 4 but they do come with the o rings on them or buy a set of o rings for about £30. you will need a puller to get them out though and a full set of injector seals probably about another £30 or so and the procedure to tighten the injectors down which is on the forum somewhere. also remember to drain the coolant first because if you lift the sleeve up it will fill the cylinder with coolant. |
