There is a wee bit of rust on my tail gate door at the bottom right hand of the glass. To get the job done right, have the rust removed and  the door painted, i would like to have the glass removed.

It looks like the glass is bonded to the rubber. Does anyone know, if the glass/rubber seal can be removed easily, or is it a job for  Autoglass?

3.0 ltr LWB

Thanks

Michael

I had a rusty spot in that area on mine but it developed into more than a wee bit of rust as eventually you could see a crack.
It was caused by a fracture in the metal where the window frame joined to the door skin and yes they had to take the window out and re-bond it after the metal was plate welded and repainted.

Hope that helps
