Hi den,
Do you mean the timing belt light. I've got an old 2.8TD and the light comes on when the belt is due to be replaced (60000ml). The light is then reset via a switch behind the speedo cluster.

at the back of the speedo cluster there is a small screw with the letters KS beside it. You just remove this screw and transfer it to the next to reset the timing light. For 92-94,3.1L, UBS69 units.
