hi folks.

just got my new 93 irmscher lwb 3.1td Bighorn.

my mechanic and auto electrician tells me my front electric window motor is burnt out and will cost £400 TO REPLACE.
is this true....please tell me it aint so

any advice or comments from all of you out there in the know.
any info appreciated

I am sure you chap tested the electrics is getting to the motor, didn't he? The earlier Troopers like my '89 after a while the door switch would stop working as crud built up under the contacts. I have repaired mine but it would have been a hell of a lot easier to have got a scrap yard replacement switch.

If he is right I'd try locating a motor on one of these 'part finder' sites, or on e-bay.

another problem with the wiring is breaks in the loom between door pillar and the door. these are hidden in rubber so make sure they are tested for continuity

had this problem on one i just bought. no windows and intermittent c/locking and door speakers. re ran new wires and all electrics work well now,,
don,t be tempted to just rejoin old wires as they age and become brittle and wil break again soon after
