Cheers guys... Looks like i have more things to try over the weekend!
Hopfully i will solve the problems... tech2 pulls up no faults so it must be a mechanical type fault (hopefully not internal)

The self diagnosis programs are only any good if there is a sensor monitoring the offending item. Today I had a Frontera with no fault codes showing and an intermittent misfire. Low and behold blocked filter in bottom of in-tank fuel pump. This car uses mechanical fuel pressure regulation so no sensor on fuel pressure at rail. Nightmare to diagnose unless you have heard about the possibilty of this fault Evil or Very Mad

Hi Dave,

It was easter weekend on the greelanes at the back end of grizedale. I have a feeling they are now shut Sad They guy in the discovery organised our routes and did the OKs with the local Glass rep. It was great fun Very Happy Very Happy

I might get my motor in for a sensor... it should have been done already but sounds like a cheap shot at a fix.

Now you've got me thinking. My fuel tank vertually always sucks air in when the filler cap is taken off. Where is the breather? Presumably it's a pipe into the chassis somewhere. Will have to have a look.
Cheers

The breather may be routed into the engine bay, can't remember on the 3.0.

From memory if you want to clear fault codes and start again: Disconnect battery for 10 mins. But as before not everything is monitored!

The sensor is £90+vat plus fitting = £250 Shocked

Its a long shot but the garage reckon its worth a try to see if it makes a difference... and its cheaper than losing a large wad of hard earnt trying to part ex.

Jeez.... I just spotted Daves post - a few days after getting mine done. The sensor was actually £110 plus vat plus fitting.

That looks pretty flash!  Hope you have more luck with the new one!  Pretty commendable sticking with the trooper after all you have been through.
