There you go...fixed it for you. |
Also how do you know the genuine seals from Isuzu aren't Viton. The number of times I have seen/read/heard people not using the Isuzu seals and then 6 months later having to do the job again is countless. Pretty sure the thousand of pounds that Isuzu has had to spend on fixing this issue and the thousands of pounds and hours they must of spent resolving the issue they would have had the best chance and expertise to come up with the right seals for the job. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

I DON'T know they are not Viton - as I said.
Do YOU know they are now Viton for sure?
And what is the part number for Isuzu Viton O-ring kits ?
(If the Aussies are still selling all-Viton O-ring kits for Jackaroos ... does it suggest they may have reasons not to trust the current Isuzu material?)
Maybe the Aussies like wasting money.
I can appreciate the theory behind researching these things - but why didn't someone do it at the very beginning ?
The Isuzu engine overhaul gasket/seal kit has a bag of O-rings but, as eithan says, none for the sleeves. |

I'm guessing of course - but just maybe the folks who have repeat problems after "6 months" are using O-rings from the uber-cheap kits on fleabay that I assume come from China ?
The Chinese are brilliant at making lookalikes of nearly everything but the materials are sometimes a bit adrift. Is that fair comment?
I think I'd avoid kits from fleabay/Lidl/Aldi etc. |

Long story short. There was an issue. Isuzu now supply the correct seals and copper washers to resolve the issue. People who have advised you here on this forum (including Isuzu professionals and specialists) use the latest Isuzu supplied seals with great success.
Obviously you are free to do what you want. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

Thanks.
I do appreciate all the advice you mention.
BTW Ref the "Copper gaskets" for the injector tips. They are included in the Isuzu Overhaul set 5878141663. |
