peeps. My search on the forum fills me with dread.
seems I am missing a rear offside brake back plate / dust cover on my trooper..

seems its a pig of a job if you can find the backlpate!!!!! and the advice is just swap the axle as its easier...

1) does anyone have a rear offside back plate / dust cover they want to sell me and Ill give my mechanic the grief of fitting it.

2) if I have to look for an axle will a 1997 3.1 rear axle fit into my 2004 3.0TD ?

guru advice much apreciated

it's easier to swap the halfshaft/hub assy than a complete axle or even changing the backplate itself. and no an axle from a 3.1 won't work and neither will the half shaft/hub assy

I wonder if, being creative and getting a similar sized backplate and welding it in place may be a solution, or cutting it off completely from both sides and trying your luck at MOT time.
