Hi Everyone, while removing the carpets from my 1998 Trooper 3.2V6 Auto, I found a broken piece of plastic under the selector lever mechanism Confused . It looks like it is supposed to activate a micro switch that is located below the selector lever unit. The switch appears to have two green wires running to it.

Now bizarrely I haven’t had any gearbox problems, no warning lights and so was wondering whats the point of this switch? Does anyone know what it is for, or what it does?

Many thanks
