|
|
Hi all, First post here and need help Im from reading berkshire UK and own a 1994 3.2 manual swb trooper and a 1996 2.8 frontera swb.
Im looking to fit a 3.1 flywheel to the 2.8 frontera but cant find any 3.1 flywheels so was wondering if anyone's tried a 2004-2007 3.0 isuzu rodeo denver solid flywheel? the flywheel looks the same
but thought i'll ask if anyone knows if they are like the 3.1 flywheel.
Any help would be great
The current plan is solid flywheel conversion so i can fit trooper diffs from a donor 3.2 petrol auto - diff ratio dependent if i can find the ratio's. |

That's great news thanks Dan, was ready to give up on the idea, will go ahead and order one up then.

You'll probably aware Steve but your talking axle swapping especially on the rear. Not sure if a 3rd member only swap is feasible for the front.
On the Frontera you should be able to find stamped tags on the axle bolts detailing the ratio. Not sure if the same can be said for the donor Trooper. The other fail safe option is to jack up and count the wheel revolution to the prop shaft. Reckon the 2.8 Fronty will be 4.54 ratio. If the 3.2 Trooper is higher ratio it will give you lower gearing. The other thing is if the Trooper is open diff on the rear it will give the opportunity for a diff locker.
The other thing to be aware of is if the Trooper donor is 'wide' axle. IIRC MkIII with plastic wheel arch covers. |
