Hi Guys

Iv'e done a bit of a silly, Iv'e removed the rear radio speakers and I can't remember which is the positive and negative wires.
The speakers have + and - marked on them with two different size connectors, only trouble is the spade connectors on the ends of the wires are the same size as each other ie both big.

On the passenger side the one wire is all Yellow and the other is Blue/Yellow.
The drivers side one is all Orange and the other is Black/Orange.

Iv'e tried connecting the wires to see if I could see the cone pull inwards and then reverse them to see if the cone then pushes outwards, guess what I can't see any darn movement on them even with my Specsavers glasses on.

I know the speaker is working because if I turn the sound up I can hear it coming from the speaker, I know they will work if wired incorrectly but I would like to have them wired as they should be, is there anyone out there who can tell me which is the correct wire colour for the positive connections.

Thanks to anyone who can put me straight.

Clive

From the diagram I have Yellow and Orange are the positive wires.

Hello JungleC

Thank you for the lowdown on the wiring, what diagram is it you have not that I'm very good at reading auto wiring diagrams, is it in the Isuzu Manual by any chance?

Thank you once again for your help

There is a link to an Isuzu manual elsewhere on this site, a search should find the link. A general rule for audio speaker wiring is solid +ve banded -ve. Rule of thumb though not always true.

Thanks again Jungle, I'll have a look at the front speakers just to see if the solid colour wire goes to + I haven't messed with them.
It's not to say they haven't been altered in the passed, I'm assuming as long as all the speakers have the same wire either solid colour or the stripped going to + at least they shouldn't be fighting each other.
