how's everyone finding the task in hand this year?
over run with rabbits already, i'm doing what i can with the rifle & i've a couple of lads on with ferrets each week, but numbers are up. the woodys have hit the crops hard too and the farmers are going ape. we've broke down into 4 teams of 2 and were managing to keep them on the move, however Mr Fox is finding life hard. got out nice and early this year with the terrier and got them whilst there were at ground. whats left in the area is being tidyed up with the centre fire and the keeper as a nice tally with the snares. if we keep this up the young game birds will do well and this year should be a good un.

i dont eat to much rabbit but rabbit shooting is by far the most enjoyable. i leave the fire arm in the cabent and take my .177 air rifle. it gives the rabbit a chance and boils down to skill and witt. theres nothing like the approch, getting into a fire position and releasing the pellet, the crack from the rifle and the thud of the impact. a nice clean head shoot always puts a smile on the old boat race Very Happy

be more than happy to have a night out markymoan later in the year.

i'll do that gatfaz, always like to leave a few about though. just a steady control will do me. when i was younger i cleared the lot and dint get to shoot for about 18 months cos there were nowt left Crying or Very sad

wont do that again.
as for woodys, there int enough guns in the world to keep on top of them, keep em moving and i'm happy wi that. you've got to admire the fox, very clever.
