Hi, I have a lwb 1993 duty uk trooper , my brake pedal is rock hard as if there is no servo assistance & the low vacuum warning light comes on when pedal is pressed, I fitted a new alternator  last year and the vacuum seems ok from that end. we tried a direct pipe from the vac pump to servo there is not any real difference any ideas or help please  as we are due to go on holiday soon lol

many thanks
Dusty

thanks for the reply eithan  i will get another alternator under warranty sorted, is there a way of testing the amount of vacuum at home? I gather the small 4mm vac pipes from the vac pump  is for the EGR system

egr and 4wd system, as long as you blanked that pipe off when you done your test then id go with vac pump but if you did it with it connected then check the little pipes on the engine as a split in one of them will just let the pump suck air and you will lose the vacuum like you have
