Years ago a list of typical 'good' readings via Tech2 [by eithan] was posted as a sticky .

As I'm still struggling to start my Trooper I dug out the 'old' post  to compare my current Tech2 readings.

One oddity jumped out ...

Eithan's list has [under "cranking"]  Fuel injector status as, quote,  "disable".

Is this a typo ?

My Tech2 says on cranking the injectors are "Enabled".

it's where i had disconnected various sensors as i was compiling the list so it wouldn't start and i could get the data before it fired, if yours is saying enabled then it should run

Ahhh. That certainly explains it !   Easy when you know the full story.

My Trooper [now known in emails to my neighbour as "Blasted Trooper"] is still a bit of a mystery.

Checked timing of flywheel and cam belt. OK.
Rail oil pressure reading 4.0mpa.
2 new batteries [but cranking speed only shows 181 rpm]
(Immobiliser signal 'sent and received')
Injector status 'Enabled'
Fuel through to acorn nut and emerges from back of head when return pipe removed.
Changed crank sensor because of odd readings (used a s/h but 'working' one)
Put original ECU/immobiliser/ ignition ring and key back in place.

Still no start and no smoke of any colour out of exhaust.
Clone Tech2 now reads cranking data after changing the DC-DC converter.

One potentially odd thing - the "Delivered fuel quantity" is significantly higher than eithan's list - it reads  as 50mm3 str.
Injector pulse width 2.5 m/secs.
Ignition timing 6.0 CA

BUT Engine Management Light is flashing continuously whilst cranking.
NO DTC codes stored as yet.

ANY suggestions welcome!

thats a sign the immobiliser isn't happy normally, does it do it when you just put the ignition on?

Picked that reply up at 23.36 !!!  Sorry.

I'll check tomorrow.

There was me not thinking the immobiliser was possibly duff as I had read somewhere 'If not happy with the immobiliser - will not crank.'

I must have taken that too literally.

Thought it best to reply in my long thread ["Another 4JX1 no start"] to keep it in one place.
