Hi Guys

Not exactly a rocket science question but I thought Iíd ask what some of you do when it comes to doing oil changes.

Namely the drain plugs, because some of the sealing washers have since long gone Iíve been using rubber O rings with a smear of sealer when re fitting them.
Iíd use copper washers but they seem to be a sloppy fit just under the head due to the size they need to be in order to get them over the threads of the plug.

I'll try to include a picture as itís far better than trying to describe.

Cheers

Clive

Hi Guys

As I said not exactly a rocket science question, and it's had 25 viewings and not a single reply even if itís only to say I use chewing gum on mine mate.

Donít tell me you all either have the servicing done by your local friendly Isuzu Main Agent ££££££££ or  simply buy new plugs for every service, that's if they are still available.

All Iím trying to find out, are rubber O rings with a smear of sealer a good idea.

Sorry about the photo I was trying to post, Iím still working on how to post it.
The reason for the photo was to show there is a 3mm undercut just below the underside of the plug head.

Hi Guys

I've finely managed to upload a photo of the plug showing the 3mm undercut.

By the way I'm looking to get the oil back in the car asap so if anyone has any ideas on what they do regarding sealing washers don't hesitate to let me know Smile

Thanks again

Clive
