Hi all,
I have a 3.0 at present but she's getting pretty tired (as they do).
A friend of mine runs an old Defender and recently dropped a massive Cummins diesel in there.
Not a massive LR fan but I have to admit to being a tad impressed.
I wondered if anybody had managed to fit anything juicy in their Troopers - or what is a good conversion.
Must be diesel ideally.
Not bothered about sticking to Isuzu either.
Thanks.

I've been thinking of doing something similar. The problem is going to be cooling it. I've got a 3.1 in a 52 plate shell and it's fine. I'd like a bit more torque so was wondering about getting it bored out. But how big to go ?
It's ok to put things on the wish list but then you find other things pop up. So if I go to 10% bigger it might be ok but then I might have to up the cooling pump. Or get a bigger radiator in there. I seem to remember the cooling on a 3.0 is almost at max anyway.
I had similar issues with a V8 3.5 in a Hilux. It was a hoot but created many problems. It would have been easier if I hadn't needed it as a daily driver.
I don't know if I want to go down that road again.
