Hi all,
I have a 3.0 at present but she's getting pretty tired (as they do).
A friend of mine runs an old Defender and recently dropped a massive Cummins diesel in there.
Not a massive LR fan but I have to admit to being a tad impressed.
I wondered if anybody had managed to fit anything juicy in their Troopers - or what is a good conversion.
Must be diesel ideally.
Not bothered about sticking to Isuzu either.
Thanks.

I've been thinking about this too. The trouble is the cooling system. I'm pretty sure the system is near enough at 90% pretty much all the time so adding power will mean a bigger pump and/or radiator.
Fine if you've got the time and money to play with it.
I had a hilux with a 3.5 V8 conversion but it was nothing but trouble. The motor ate 2nd gear so I put a Disco gearbox in it. Which meant making changes to the fuel tank to get the prop shaft past it. Bigger radiator and double fans could just about keep up with the heat except when it got really hot.
One off exhaust etc etc
