On the 3.0 tdi, 4xj1 engine, does it serve any purpose other than to create vacuum fornthe egr?
Asking because today I heard something that messed with my mind.
A 3.0 tdi making blow off valve sounds.
Now if the throttle plate does  not close, there is no way for a bov to work.
And if the 3.0 tdi throttle plate is there just to create vacuum for the egr, so it doesn't really close when you release the gas, how the heck did that guy have a bov on his car?
The engine was 100% diesel, I am 100% I heard the "swooosh" sound that is made by a bov.
