Hi guys,
I bought a non runner 2003 trooper.
I would start if you pumped the hand primer vigourously, then spin the engine for 15 or 20 seconds, but runs unevenly and seems to be low on power.
Turn it off and it takes even more hand primibg and spinning before restarting.
Removed the diesel tank, cleaned rusty spots and fitted new diesel lines.
Hand primer seemed to have stoped working, so fitted a good one.
End result is, no different to original condition.
Engine shakes more than I think it should.
Did the paperclip test on the data connector and the following 3 cider were repeated over and over again.
74
66
41
As far as I can find, these are Intake Trottle Position sensor, Glow plug relay, and Cam Position Sensor.
Any thoughts, are these 2 seperate sensors all likely to be faulty, and would they cause the rough running.
I'd have thought it looked like an injector down, but all help appreciated! |

engine shaking is a sign of an injector down, tps won't cause starting issues, glow relay might but it should still start maybe blow a bit of smoke for a few secs then it would clear, if the cam sensor has gone it probably won't start but when it does it switches the cam sensor off so that won't cause rough running either.
if your sure theres no air getting in to the fuel (check by fitting a clear filter or section of fuel line and look for air bubbles) then it could be the orps causing the bad starting so search up the white wire trick and try that to rule out orps |
