vlv vew, you can perhaps spot the opcv behind the hpop

not removed yet, you can spot the faulty orps, looks brand new, injectors overview

can't wait to receive the parts and tech 2 to hopefully get the trooper back on the road, this 4JX1 engine looks massive (and fantastic, really). never seen under the rocker cover before, it's impressive, to be honnest.

Hi, orps is removed and so are the glow plugs. thought it would be "of great interest" to remove them should they not snap... theu didn't  sunny

So, now that glow plugs are removed (they came out very easily tbh) they don't look very healthy though... 2 of them are sooted with blackish oily fuely liquid... and no 4 in the pictures smelt diesel (a lot). if that's unusual, should i worry about injectors / injector sleeves? though i cannot see or smell any diesel in the coolant fluid, nor in the oil...

Hi sorry for asking too many questions i'm thinking of removing the injectors to inspect them and perhaps clean them while i'm there.
Question : do i need to drain the oil and coolant to do so?

The reason i want to do that is because i tried to clean the area where the glow plugs sit. so in order not to drop dirt in the glow plugs holes, i cleaned them and screw them back a bit so i could clean the surrounds with lubricant spray. but when i removed the #1 glow plug, it was black and oily again. there i'm thinking it maight be a goo idea to remove the injectors and see how they look like. so do i have to drain the oil and coolant? many thanks

you don't need to drain the coolant and if you lift the injectors out complete with rail attached then the oil will stay in the rail unless you tip it up but if you remove an injector leaving the rail in then as soon as you lift the injector up you will get oil come out of the rail and straight down the injector hole in to the cylinder.

so lift the injectors out with rail attached but when refitting remove the injectors off the rail and install everything separately.

Ok, managed to remove oil rail and injectors assy. Here are images of the injector sleeves to start with. Is there anything I should worry about and so remove them to address problems? Or do they look ok? Coming are the injectors photos... they don't look very good to my very own point of view...

Not sure if that helps, but i'd like to share these two last pictures featuring an overview of the engine bay and camshaft carrier, as i'm pretty sure many have not had the chance to see, just like me before...
