if the injectors show as enabled then that proves the cam and crank and engine speed are ok and there is enough oil pressure which by pulling the white wire tricks the ecu so if it did fire then we know it must be the orps, the fact it still hasn't fired means we are no further forward, the oil pressure out of the injectors doesn't look enough but if we said they were injecting therefore enabled that means the cam and crank and oil pressure are good so in theory it should start but as it hasn't then it has to be either fuel or ecu.

you need a 12v supply for the tech2 to work we need to see what the ecu is seeing to work out what isn't right

Tech reads -0.1 without crancking the engine. Can't read while cranking because tech screen closes when cranking the engine.

Needs a better DC/DC converter fitted.

Look at my thread on owners of Tech2 for info on DC/DC converters.

"Now I'm sure I actually took my instructions from saabcentral.com  >>(https://www.saabcentral.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-567490.html)   rather than the poor translation on the earlier link I posted.

I used an  LM2596S from eebuygum. My 'electronics mate' did the soldering and supplied a necessary resistor.
The units can be incredibly cheap - currently as low as £1.95 inc post. [I paid £1.66 for mine a year ago]
Almost certainly Chinese but no evidence of 'cheese' yet on mine!"

Eithan is an expert ... [have you checked fuel primer is/stays 'hard' ?]

Unfortunetly, I know nobody who would mess with the tech2 internals. And since there is no other way to make it work while cranking, I simply can't get any readings when the engine cranks.
But I do thank you for the time and information, maybe someday I'll find someone brave enough to fiddle with it.
As for Eithan, I have 0 doubts he is an expert, wish he were closer si I could bring him the car.
Not checked the primer, as far as I know, will visit my mechanic at first light and see if he did.
I do remember he was pushing on somethint while I was cranking, same way you push on a chest for CPR. Think on the pump? Somewhere in the engine bay.
But that was of no use either.
Nasty rust bucket still refused to start.
Thank you.

it will run off a separate car battery if you can find a plug that will fit the socket in the bottom of the tech2 it's like a laptop power lead you don't need a special adapter or anything

Even the China version? I was reading on the link above that China version will not work while cranking even with another power source.

Just the data menu, if you select engine speed/oil pressure/injectors enabled or disabled you can get all 3 at the top of the screen to save keep scrolling through all the lines to find them when it’s cranking
