Good evening

Is there somebody who can assist me or point me in the correct direction to get the torque and preload specs for the rear diff on my '95 3.2l Trooper?
It has a crush sleeve and I was not able to source a new one so decided to hit it with a hammer over a pipe to lengthen it a bit(very little movement for a lot of effort).
My concern is that the pinion preload feels excessive if I tighten the pinion nut until the crush sleeve is actually in contact with the bearings. If i the preload seems fine the crush sleeve is still moving around. Any indication of what the exact preload should be?

The whole reason why I took the diff apart was because the pinion bearings failed. Maybe it failed due to excessive preload? so that's makes me wonder..
