Hi All,

Replaced the engine in our 3.1 and all seems well apart from it cuts out if rev'd in neutral, haven't driven it on the road yet just round a field so not getting anywhere near 3k rpm.  Stationary, bringing the rpm's up to 3k rpm it rev's cleanly, no nosies, no smoke, but cuts out dead as soon as it hits 3k rpm...

Is there a problem or is it a safety feature..?

Thanks,

db.

hi,

Just reading old posts, could this be the oil supply pipe / strainer dropped / broke off, same as the 3.0l...?  would this give the problem we have..?

Thanks,

db.

Hi All,

Still struggling here, guy who installed the engine for us thought he could use his code reader but we know different, he's looking to start changing parts, but in truth does really know where to start.. ordering a crankshaft sensor to try.

Anyone local to Saxmundham Suffolk with a tech2..?

Cheers,

db

There is a OBC plug hanging down under the steering column.. Need to count the pins tomorrow.. Took it to an all singing all dancing diagnostic guy today, he could connect to the OBC either..

Hi All,

Replaced the engine in our 3.1 and all seems well apart from it cuts out if rev'd in neutral stationary, bringing the rpm's up to 3300k rpm it rev's cleanly, no nosies, no smoke, but cuts out dead as soon as it hits 3300k rpm...

As we cannot read any codes does anyone (Eithan) Smile)    have any suggestions where to look to resolve this problem?

It drives perfect up to 3300rpm then shuts off, no splutter just cuts out..
All filters are new.
Starts fine, just a puff of smoke that clears immediately.
Pulls ok too, before it just stops.

Help..   Confused

Thanks,

db.

i think your looking for a white 3 pin connector which you bridge the outer pins together and put the ignition on and count the flashes on the check engine light
