Hi all,

Right I've a charging issue with the old 97 3.1 trooper citation, charges at 11.7v at idle and will not rise above regardless of conditions or load. 3 different alternators (original, old one off previous trooper and a brand new one bought this morning) and 2 different charge relays (original and new) and still no joy, whats more the brake servo occasionally acts like the vacuum system is on the blink (extremely hard pedal feel and little braking at anything more than light braking).

I figure I may have a bad connection on the voltage sensor from the alternator to the battery (guessing there) but I haven't a clue where the choice trouble spots are or if I'm even barking up the right tree...

Suggestions welcome.

Still no answer as to cause.

Lack of voltage sensor wire to battery will make a healthy alternator charge at maximum voltage as a default - around 16V - AMHIK !
