Hi all,
The handbooks for my 2000 and 2004 4jxs, which are identical, both describe the engine compartment priming button with water level sensor type filter which is fitted to both of my vehicles.
However, the Workshop Manual (CD) which is very comprehensive makes no mention of that type, only referring to the petrol version of a canister filter with a spout at each end and fitted to the chassis somewhere!
Can any one shed any light on this mystery?

the 3.0l doesn't have a sensor in the filter that was the old 3.1, common for the primer units to fail though so they may have been replaced with something else |
