Hi Guys

Can anyone out there help, Trooper 3.0L mileage recorder there is a Trip 1 and Trip 2 both can be set to zero independently of each other.
Both were set to zero although one showed 0 with no decimal point and the other showed 0.0 ie with a decimal point.

After completing a short run Trip 1 showed 31.6 miles but Trip 2 also showed a mileage of 32 miles, I was expecting it to show zero.

Does anyone have any ideas what’s going on as they should not be recording mileage at the same time.
Is there an easy cure or am I looking at a new instrument cluster job?

Thanks to anyone who can help me

Clive

As far as I know thats normal. The idea being to record two different milages.
E.G. Set the one with the decimal point each time you fill up to record millage for fuel  and reset the other one back to zero after an oil change or service time rather than go of the total milage from the oddmeter.

Thsy will just keep recording millage from when they were kast reset.

Hi Malcolm

Thanks for your reply, I was under the impression if the Trip 1 was displaying then that was the one which recorded the mileage and Trip 2 would show zero if the reset button was pressed momentarily just to flick between one display and the other.
Guess I must have that wrong, I’d convinced myself the whole thing was playing up, at least youv'e saved me a job.

How long have I had the car now and just found that out  Very Happy

Thanks again

Clive

No worries Clive,

That's always been my understanding of how the 2 trips work on any vehicle. That's certainly how I use them.  Very Happy
