Eithan hi.
Many thanks for response.
Did notice no fan.
First " hope" ...blue relay.
Have ordered new one.
But appreciate alternator could be goosed.
If relay doesnt solve prob, will get alt replaced.
I have researched labour required to replace...!!!
Seems to vary from 1-2 hours to 4-6 hours.
Long time ago I would have tackled job myself..but that was last century!
Old father time has beaten me at arm wrestling..so white flag up flagpole!
Notice topics etc and wbsite activity reducing dramatically now.
Trooper defo best ever vehicle I have owned.
This website, and especially your insights/ advice etc has been a fantastic facility.
You are THE iSUZU WIZARD..without equal.
Many thanks.Hope 2020 is a great year for you!
Best regards.DAB..and his 2020 Super Trooper! |

Thought too simple and cheap if relay.
Handbrake warning light a red herring?
Odd it came on with battery warning light?
Just a coincidence?
Brake fluid level pefect.
Cheers. |

The parking brake warning lamp can illuminate in the absence of vacuum in the system |

Hi.
New blue relay from Milners arrived this morning.
Plugged it in.
Turned ignition on....fan started running...started the car...no battery warning light!
Assuming all okay...?
Thanks for inputs.

Eithan.
I was afraid it might be a temp relief.
When I was dropping my Subaru off this morning for MoT plus cambelt change, I asked to get a quote for alternator replacement!
So plan " B" already in place.
Cheers.
PS.
If alternator is goosed.. is it likely to have knackered the new relay? |

Hi.
Further news!
You are, as ever, correct.
I was so pleased warning lights off I never checked voltmeter when revving engine.
Now done so.
Slight upward movement of needle, but nowhere near usual 13 volt reading.
So will go ahead and get alt swapped for new one.
Thanks again.
