This is my second Isuzu trooper first one had for11 yrs.this recent one I have had for7 months yr 2000 3 ltr diesel
the fault I have is check engine light comes on intermitantly and a slight faltering whist running I have been to 3 garages to try and solve it
the last visit was to an Isuzu dealer but they failed to cure problem they did find a recall notice ,throttle sleeve and they replaced with a new part
but the problem still persists its concerning me as I don't want to do damage by continualy ignoring problem
has any owner had same fault Question or has any one got a suggestion?

I had something verry similar to this on my 2002 3Ltr. After a bit od a discusion with various people it looked like the dreaded ORPS so I bought on off eebuygum. When I stripped it all out, I found my ORPS loose in the rail, thinking I had found the fault, I tightened it up and tried again. No difference so I fitted the new one (non genuine) Still made no difference. Every one kept advising to get a genuine one so I bit the bullet and ordered and fitted a genuine ORPS. Still made no difference. Got a fault codes from the OBD socket which in hind sight should have been done first with the paper clip method (detailed somewhere on here) and with the flash codes recorded and  help from a local forum member traced it down to the injector harnes. Got a second hand harness, fitted it and it was "Happy Days" problem sorted.
May be worth checking the codes with the paperclip method and posting back on here and I am sure that one of the guros on here will help with the readings.

Sorry should have said May be worth posting in the engine section Smile

I understand the TPS (throttle position sensor) could also cause this.  My check engine light comes on periodically.  Mark at old mill motors suggested it was the TPS.  Mine goes away if I rev hard then comes backs on.  It doesn't seem to make much difference at the moment, but I must replace it at some point.
