Hi All,
I have a 1995 Trooper Bighorn Lotus styling import! (Was imported in 2006 but not by myself)
The vehicle was being used regularly for a few years without issues. It was noticed that if the engine was revved rapidly and reached 3800 rpm then out would cut out! It would start again once in neutral but I decided not to drive it harshly.

About a year ago the exhaust became smoky, grey smoke with black soot in it. This occurs even at idle!
Since finding this the Bosch VE electric pump has been overhauled by Bosch as it cut out on me.
The turbo is a new one from eebuygum. I have measured the boost and under load, at the intercooler, it shows 8 - 10 psi on the pressure gauge.
Owing to Covid-19 the MOT ran out in March and with the smoke I cannot get it tested, without gassing the garage staff!
I cannot find a garage with diagnostics that can connect to this vehicle although there is a flash code of 2:1. From what I can find on the internet this relates to throttle switch although the codes were not for this particular import. This, as you may suspect, is a fly by wire system.

Now I must attain an MOT because GOV.UK will not allow more tax without one. Either this or SORN it!
I have tried many things but not much success. Also I find it difficult getting info on this vehicle as it is an import.

Help will be appreciated or else it'll have to sadly go!
