Hello guys.
I need advice please. 2004 trooper. The clutch doesnt fully release. First thing in the morning and for a few miles the clutch pedal is perfect. Little bit of play at top of pedal(normal). But after a few miles the pedal gets harder at the top. If I touch the pedal while driving, the clutch starts slipping. I looked underneath and the clutch fork isnt fully released. So I opened the nipple on the slave, fluid under pressure and the fork relaxed back to its rest position.. The pedal is now perfect again, no clutch slip etc.. Until a few more miles later and then the same again..
Had new flywheel and clutch kit fitted last year(exedy)
Brand new master cylinder fitted
Brand new slave cylinder fitted.
I recently changed the clutch damper valve for a second hand one( not sure if faulty or not)
Are the damper valves troublesome? Can I just bypass it?
Any help appreciated, thanks.

In case anyone wants to know,

So it turns out the clutch damper was at fault. I got rid of it and fitted a flexible brake hose in its place and bled it up.  Have been driving it for a few days and all is well. Hope it helps someone. The hose I used is a rear inner brake hose for a toyota auris. part#BBH7937 (Borg&Beck). It has the correct threads and internal flares to suit pipes on vehicle.

Sorry for the late reply Eithan.
Yes both pedals are the same height. Clutch is working perfectly since the damper delete.  I also have a bonkers notion of doing an om606 mercedes engine swap but thats a story for another day

Pedals shouldn’t be the same height the clutch pedal should be higher, I should think someone has adjusted it on the stop but not altered the rod length as well
