Hi, I have a question about the interval. My Trooper is imported from Germany in 2002 and the Kundendiest Scheckheft/owners manual clearly states in the Wartungsplane/maintance schedule, for diesel engine that zahnriemen erneuern alle 200000 km. Which means that the timing belt for diesel engines to be replaced  every 200000 km. The owners manual I refer to followed my car from the dealer Isuzu Dresden, is stamped and the vin number is listed for my 4JX1.

On the forum sites I have read that the belt is supposed to be replaced every 5 years/100000km.

I do trust you, but I also trust the german Isuzu dealer and owners manual and guarantee papers. Question

I replaced the belt in oct. 2015 so its overdue acc. to time, but I have only driven 15000km

So, what is correct Question

Christmas greetings.

If you've got the opportunity to do it/get it done then I'd get it done. You don't want to be driving around thinking it could go pop at any time.

Hi, yes I  will replace the belt and the tensioner to be safe and sleep well. I use Gates 5530XS which is said to be stronger than the rubber types.
